The International Bomber Command Centre
The International Bomber Command Centre (IBCC) is a world-class facility to serve as a point for recognition, remembrance and reconciliation for Bomber Command. Not a Sportive
Super Flexible
The Pathfinder Rides are NOT A CYCLING SPORTIVE, since it has many starting points. Where you start from and how long it takes you is YOUR decision, and this is the beauty of this event. So, we leave it to you to decide where you or you and your family, or you and your friends want to start - It really could be anywhere.
We are a small group who want to help the International Bomber Command Centre continue what they are doing—being a point for recognition, remembrance and reconciliation for Bomber Command.
We believe that what they do is vitally important to ensure that future generations never forget their sacrifices.
We are creating an annual event that cyclists can attend regardless of their ability level and the distance they want to travel.
We want to build on this event year on year, hoping that each year will see cyclists coming from all four corners of the UK and Europe and maybe even beyond.
We ask cyclists who sign up for the event to identify their Bomber Command linked starting point and bring that story home to the IBCC.

This is going to appeal to all cyclists
For Young Families, it could be just a few miles and the opportunity for a bit of exercise on a bike. A pleasant weekend excursion on the first days of the school summer holidays. For Individual Cyclists, it could be an excuse for a pleasant ride with an objective, or perhaps an overnight stay in the historic city of Lincoln. Not just another roadside coffee and cake (although there will be coffee and cake). The Pathfinder rides will offer your post-ride treat in the company of hundreds of like-minded people supporting a memorial to the heroes of yesterday. For Club Cyclists, it's the opportunity for a weekend club ride with a difference, perhaps over two days? But either way, it's a ride focussing the efforts and thoughts of your team to the teams of 80 years ago who made the ultimate sacrifice. For the Bike Packers, their ride could take days or weeks to complete, starting in the early days of July in the far-flung reaches of the United Kingdom or Europe.

The Big Arrival !
So, families, solo cyclists, club cyclists, groups of friends and bikepackers - all the great entrants, their ride will finish at the International Bomber Command Centre in Lincoln over the weekend of 23rd and 24th July 2022. Where, in the presence of RAF representatives, cyclists and their families, everyone can be fulfilled in the knowledge that we have done our bit—helping to ensure that future generations learn of the vital role of Bomber Command in protecting the freedom we enjoy today.
